WALL COLLAPSED IN HS CAMPUS by Evelyn Mae Gitalada

Last July 6, around 12:00 noon, a portion of the wall attached to Trans-American Townhouses beside the Elementary and High School campus collapsed and caused damages to three support service offices particularly the bookstore, High School Instructional Media Center (IMC), and library.

Fortunately, classes in the High School Department were shortened to give way for the Parents’ Annual Orientation Program and election of officers of the Parents-Teachers Association. This lessened possible casualties since the high school students were dismissed from their classes earlier and only few stayed in the library during noon break.

Engr. Romeo Rydyl Obsum Jr., Building Administration and Maintenance (BAM) Director, advised the bookstore assistant manager, Mrs. Helen Tacuban, to vacate their office for safety. In addition, he also advised compulsory closure of the portion of the High School Library to ensure safety and prevent any possible harm.

The High School and Elementary bookstore is now temporarily housed at College of Education students' lounge, adjacent to the Discipline Officer’s office. Security guards were also
provided with a temporary bunkhouse. Total demolition of the former bookstore and HS IMC was enforced.
