SLCN BECOMES A NATIONAL TRAINING INSTITUTE FOR IMCI by Gisela Luna

July 18-19, personnel from the Department of Health (DOH) visited Trinity University of Asia (TUA) St. Luke's College of Nursing (SLCN) to ascertain the unit's accreditation as a national training institute for the Integrated Management of Childhood Illnesses (IMCI).

IMCI is a joint project of DOH, the World Health Organization (WHO), and the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF). With said accreditation, SLCN will become the repository where nursing faculty from different schools, colleges and universities in Quezon City could train for IMCI, which program is now integrated in the nursing curriculum and the Nurses Licensure Examination.

SLCN faculty, Ms. Liz Ngaya-an and Mrs. Bea Martinez-Cruz will be sent by TUA to undergo the facilitators' training for said program.
